Anarchy in the whisky : Kirk and Bright

How The Whisky Lodge is launching a new range of Scottish whiskies with punk accents - Kirk & Bright.

It all began like this. It was 1976, in the United States, and everything indicated that something was about to happen. The air was saturated with napalm, the peace and love ideology dying. None of it smelled good. It's not surprising that a movement would emerge from the depths that would fill the world with noise and fury. Starting from the gutters of New York, punk would quickly cross the English Channel to devour London.

Kirk was at the forefront when the Sex Pistols terrorized the little English girls and the monarchy. Swept away by the wave, the young man tore his beautiful tweed suits, swearing only by Vivienne Westwood's SM rags. What unfolded before his black-lined eyes was history in the making. Tea at five o'clock, not for him: he was a punk, he knew it now. And to those who criticized his appearance, he had only one thing to say: 'F*** off!'

A few years of antics and many pots of paint later, Kirk now lives reclusively in the Highlands. What better way to annoy the world than to see no one! By his side, a mischievous sheep, Bright, with whom he shares a taste for solitude and his love of whisky. An inveterate collector, Kirk has accumulated bottles like he once did 45s, bruises, and pins in his leather jacket. In the midst of rarities, one bottle stands out, irreverent and highly colored, seeming to taunt its venerable neighbors from the top of its youth. When nostalgia strikes, that's the one he uncorks.

Kirk & Bright is a new brand of Scottish whisky. Young, painted, it draws inspiration from British punk and seems to give a glorious middle finger to the other bottles on the shelf. Confident in its quality, proud of its look, it speaks to enthusiasts who don't care about 'what will people say.' Those who know that value does not wait for the number of years and who judge whiskies like men: by what they have in their hearts and not the holes in their jeans. 'Society, you won't get me,' said the whisky before being swallowed by the sirens of modern marketing. There's a punk in each of us. It's up to us to wake it up.
