Released in 2012, nearly 15 years after the classic Distiller’s Select, the Woodford Double Oaked, as its name suggests, is a version that has undergone a second passage in new casks. The secret to this intense and complex Bourbon lies in this finishing, slightly exceeding one year, in a cask first extensively toasted and then lightly charred, providing it with aromatic depth while softening its character.

The Distillery
The Woodford Reserve distillery, listed as a historical monument in the United States, was founded in 1812. Its bourbon recipe has remained unchanged since then (72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley), which does not stop it from producing other types of whiskeys. The specificity of this distillery is the use of pot stills in addition to column stills.
