Foursquare Equidem

Foursquare Equidem originates from the Foursquare distillery, located in the parish of Saint Philip on the island of Barbados. This single blended rum combines two distillation techniques: a traditional double retort pot still and a continuous twin column still, reflecting the house style defined by integrated craftsmanship. The spirit underwent full tropical ageing for 14 years, divided into two successive maturations. The first stage lasted 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a further 9 years in casks previously used for Black Muscat, a fortified wine. This secondary maturation, unprecedented in Foursquare’s previous releases, introduces a distinct aromatic profile characterised by concentrated dark fruits, subtle florals and refined oak nuances. The extended tropical ageing favours natural concentration of esters and congeners, with no added colouring, chill filtration, sweeteners or flavourings. Bottled at 61% ABV, Equidem delivers a layered profile combining fruit intensity, restrained spice, patisserie notes and a hint of vegetal complexity. The result is a structured and expressive rum, shaped by long maturation and a rigorous approach to blending.
