Planteray Trinidad 22 year old 2003

Distilled in 2003 by Trinidad Distillers Limited, this traditional rum is made from molasses and column distilled. It underwent tropical ageing for 19 years in ex-bourbon oak casks in Port of Spain, followed by a further 3 years of continental maturation in French oak casks previously used for Ferrand eaux-de-vie. This dual ageing process enhances the aromatic complexity, shaped by both climate conditions and wood influence. The oldest vintage released in the Planteray Terravera collection to date, this expression reflects the series’ focus on single-origin, vintage rums. Bottled at natural cask strength and drawn from a single cask, it contains no added sugar or colouring, preserving the rum’s full integrity and delivering a faithful expression of its provenance. The aromatic structure develops around woody, spicy and pastry-like notes, supported by a well-defined texture and a long-lasting finish.
