Plantation Rum Guyana 15 year old 2007

This 2007 vintage rum is a blend of column-distilled and double pot still Port Mourant distillates, made from molasses. It matured for 13 years in 200-litre ex-bourbon casks under tropical conditions, followed by an additional 2 years of continental ageing in 350-litre Ferrand casks in France. This dual ageing process contributes to a gradual aromatic development, revealing a complex structure. On the nose, it offers aromas of cocoa, almond, vanilla, citrus peel and buttery pastry. The palate is rich and oily, with notes of blond tobacco, dried fruits, floral elements and resinous undertones. The finish is notably long, with a persistent presence of spices such as nutmeg, pepper and liquorice. This expression is bottled at natural cask strength, with no added sugar or colouring.
