Glenlossie 10 year old
Flora & Fauna
Known among enthusiasts for its fresh and herbaceous character, Glenlossie reveals itself here in a softer light. Notes of cereals and dried grass (freshly harvested wheat fields) dominate the palate at first, giving way to others, more mellow and fruity, of mirabelle plum, apricot, and peach, delicately wrapped in vanilla and milk caramel.
A must-have for Scotch whisky connoisseurs, the so-called "Flora & Fauna" range is little known to the general public. Launched in the 1990s by United Distillers & Vintners, this series was originally intended to showcase distilleries that did not bottle under their own name. There were also non-reduced versions until the 2000s. The complete collection comprises 26 references, released over time, some of which are now discontinued and have become true collectors' items. The paternity of the name "Flora & Fauna" in reference to the animals and plants depicted on the various labels is attributed to the whisky writer and critic Michael Jackson.

Glenlossie belongs to the exclusive club of distilleries owned by Diageo, unknown to most whisky lovers, but working at full speed to supply the group's blends. Its malt is fine, sometimes oily, with a typical herby note when it comes out of the still. The only known bottling is part of the “Flora & Fauna” series, bottled at ten years.
