The thirteenth edition of Compagnie des Indes' Boulet de Canon N°13, crafted from a blend of Panamanian and Nicaraguan rum, stands out due to its unique aging process. Aged for 8 months in former peated whisky casks, this rum is then smoked with hay after a 48-hour maceration. The result? A nose featuring hints of ash, grilled meat, and tobacco, followed by a mouthwatering experience where hay smoking imparts smoky and peaty notes, along with touches of oregano, thyme, rosemary, dried straw, and toasted malt. The finish evokes a campfire where a succulent piece of meat has been grilled. This limited edition combines the spirit of the East India Companies' adventures with the originality of hay smoking.
