Joining Laphroaig as a secretary in 1934, Elisabeth "Bessie" Williamson never left. In fact, she was the sole woman to own and manage a distillery in the 20th century - a mark of sheer character, undoubtedly! Therefore, it's no surprise that Williamson is the "secret" name behind independent bottlings of Laphroaig, a distillery that never lacks character. Here, one encounters a maritime, smoky, and intense malt, with distinctive tarry and vegetal accents (peat, moss, cloves). The Sherry cask perfectly envelops this impetuous temperament, imparting delightful indulgent notes and an incomparable, smooth, and fresh mouthfeel (white chocolate, citrus). A powerful yet refined Islay whisky: a firm hand in a velvet glove!
