Torabhaig Sound Of Sleat

The fourth chapter of the Legacy Series, Sound of Sleat is a single malt from the Isle of Skye crafted from Concerto and Laureate malted barley, peated to over 78 PPM. Fermented over 72 hours using Pinnacle MG yeast, the spirit develops a structured fruity profile. Maturation is carried out exclusively in American oak (Quercus Alba) casks, including freshly charred barrels shipped directly from the cooperage, first-fill bourbon casks aged 4 to 6 years, and long-used refill casks from the distillery’s own warehouses. Bottled at 46% without chill filtration or colouring, this whisky reveals aromas of delicate orange, apricot, popcorn, sweet seaweed and pipe tobacco. The palate balances oak spice, honey, bonfire smoke and salinity, with a subtly waxy mouthfeel. The finish is long and elegant, combining marine notes, white pepper and honey. This expression offers a precise interpretation of Torabhaig’s peated character, where intensity is matched by finesse in a reflection of Skye’s coastal landscape.
