Trade Mark X 100 Proof

James Eadie, Edition N°1

Trade Mark X 100 Proof revives the aromatic depth and high strength of the final bottlings from the 1940s, paying tribute through its enhanced complexity and elevated alcohol content. Composed of four casks of Trade Mark X finished for an additional year in Oloroso sherry casks, alongside a traditional refill cask to maintain balance, this blend showcases intensity, precision and layered character. Bottled at 57.1% ABV, it reveals amplified flavours of red fruit preserves, leather, roasted nuts, soft spice and gentle peat. The nose unfolds aromas of dried apricot, gingerbread and resin, evolving towards dark cocoa and ripe fig. The palate displays rich concentration, structured around a robust cereal base, stewed fruits and warm oak notes. The finish is long and defined, with nuances of green coffee, dried fruits and earthy smoke. Limited to 1,800 bottles worldwide, Trade Mark X 100 Proof offers a refined interpretation of traditional blending, rooted in historical methods and cask-driven maturation.

The House

The independent bottling house James Eadie stands out for its drastic selection of distillates and ageing, to ensure that the consumer enjoys flawless malts. Behind the brand is a seasoned and passionate entrepreneur, Rupert Patrick, who has worked for many years in the whisky industry, notably at Diageo and Beam Suntory. It is also a family affair, as Rupert is a direct descendant of James Eadie, whose brand he bought while re-launching a famous 19th century blended scotch: Trade Mark X. His thorough work as a historian and selector naturally led him to extend his range, which now includes small batches and single casks from the greatest Scottish distilleries, with particularly accomplished ageing and finishing.
