The Glen Keith distillery was founded in 1957 by Sam Bronfman, from the Seagram group, who had just bought Chivas Brothers. It was intended to supply the 100 Pipers, Passport and of course Chivas blends. Experimental and pioneering in many ways (double and triple distillation, first gas-fired still in 1970, production of peated malts to replace Islay in blends, experiments with different types of cereals and yeasts...), Glen Keith, now owned by Pernod Ricard, produces a rather light and fruity whisky. There are independently bottled versions of Glen Keith under the names Glenisla and Craigduff.
