Another one of the reliable foot soldiers in the whisky industry, Dailuaine operates day and night to meet the demands for whisky from major blending brands. However, its single malt is far from lacking in interest; quite the opposite. Evidence of this can be found in this 9-year-old bottling, which is fresh and notably vegetal (lime blossom, moss) reminiscent of English candy. The straightforward nose contrasts with the smooth and fruity sweetness of the palate. This whisky leaves behind a delightful apricot-tinged freshness in its wake. A delight for connoisseurs.

The Distillery
The Dailuaine distillery was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie. The first official bottling of Dailuaine is a 16 Year Old in the "Flora & Fauna" series, followed by a 22 Year Old Cask Strength in the "Rare Malts" series. The distillery uses rapid distillation, long fermentation and reduced copper contact to obtain a powerful "new make", marked by meaty notes, the secret of the longevity of the great Speyside malts.
