The mere mention of the name Glenrothes often brings tears to the eyes of lovers of rich and mellow Speyside whiskies. In 2023, it's not easy to trace what once brought glory to this distillery. However, this bottling does it complete justice, immediately transporting enthusiasts back to the 1990s. The style is warm and direct, heavily influenced by Sherry; the palate, full, rich, and luxurious, offers a lot of substance. This high-class winter whisky unfolds with dense woody notes, syrupy fruits, spices, and kirsch, with a distinctive touch of candied orange peel and dark caramel that will evoke wonderful memories for many a connoisseur.
