Ardmore 22 year old 2000
James Eadie, Cask Finish, Sherry Butt
Ardmore has long been an outsider among Highland distilleries, notably due to its flame-heated stills and its uncommonly smoky style in the region. A key component of the Teacher's blend, it is also a peated single malt of assured refinement. This Sherry cask-matured expression offers a balanced, full-bodied whisky with a coating character, marked by lovely notes of smoked fish, dried fruits, salted butter caramel, and cocoa. The Sherry's indulgent and slightly spicy influence is remarkable. Atypical and delicious.

The Distillery
This Highland distillery was built in 1898 to supply the Teacher's Highland Cream blend, which is very popular in Scotland. It was one of the last distilleries to promote the fire heating of its stills. Its style is distinctive as a Highland single malt, with notes of smoked fish, earth and vanilla.
