Every year, The Whisky Lodge has the immense privilege of selecting, with the assistance of Sandy Hyslop, the Master Blender of Chivas Brothers, an exceptional cask from the distillery's warehouses. This is an opportunity to demonstrate that this superb Speyside house excels not only in the Sherry casks for which it is famous but also in Bourbon casks. This 17-year-old in a first-fill American oak cask is a vivid illustration of that. Its golden button yellow hue is sublime. Elegant and refined, it stands out for its freshness on the nose, offering beautiful notes of passito Jurançon, white flowers, and spices. Creamy and robust on the palate, it evolves with beautiful fruity notes (quince, apricot, pomegranate, dried apple), perfectly complemented by a crisp acidity. Clear rancio, classy bouquet, endless length. A great Aberlour.
