This relatively unknown distillery is particularly surprising in the diversity of profiles it can offer through its whiskies. Its style seems to have changed overall with the introduction in the 2000s of unprecedented milling and mashing technology in Scotland. This 10-year-old is brilliantly clear. A must-have for Scotch whisky connoisseurs, the so-called "Flora & Fauna" range is little known to the general public. Launched in the 1990s by United Distillers & Vintners, this series was originally intended to showcase distilleries that did not bottle under their own name. There were also non-reduced versions until the 2000s. The complete collection comprises 26 references, released over time, some of which are now discontinued and have become true collectors' items. The paternity of the name "Flora & Fauna" in reference to the animals and plants depicted on the various labels is attributed to the whisky writer and critic Michael Jackson.
