Unlike other Rabbit Hole whiskeys, Boxergrail's mashbill comprises only two grains: rye and malted barley. Rye dominates at 95%, while malted barley serves as the 'aromatic grain,' imparting a silky mouthfeel with subtle notes of caramel and spices. After mashing, the distillate flows through a handcrafted, copper column still and is refined with crystal-clear Kentucky water before aging in hand-selected American white oak barrels. These barrels are slowly toasted and charred, extracting sugars from wood fibers, contributing to the unique complexity and flavor of the whiskeys. To ensure the care put into crafting the whiskey carries through to the final product, they remain unfiltered.
