Ardmore 12 year old 2011
Wilson & Morgan, Signature
This 12-year-old Highland Ardmore, fully matured in sherry casks, unveils a true "sherry bomb." The dry, vinous nose offers notes of nuts, old books, and black coffee, while the palate reveals a pleasant bitterness, almost reminiscent of a craft beer. The malted and resinous touches typical of the distillery are present but dominated by the tannic dryness of the Oloroso. The finish is long, tense, and tannic, recalling traditional sherry styles.

The Distillery
This Highland distillery was built in 1898 to supply the Teacher's Highland Cream blend, which is very popular in Scotland. It was one of the last distilleries to promote the fire heating of its stills. Its style is distinctive as a Highland single malt, with notes of smoked fish, earth and vanilla.
